The Plainview Indians entered their tilt with the Madill Wildcats with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Plainview enjoyed a cozy 48-29 victory over Madill on Tuesday. That's another feather in the cap for Plainview, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Plainview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emilee Hedger led the charge by scoring 21 points along with two steals. Hedger continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Jacelyn Hammon was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Plainview's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.2 points per game. As for Madill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10.
Plainview will be playing in front of their home fans against Marietta at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Marietta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 309th, while Plainview is ranked 53rd). Madill will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Byng at 6:30 p.m. on February 9th.
