The Cincinnatus Central Lions lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. Their rough 45-21 loss to Solvay might stick with them for a while. Cincinnatus Central was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Solvay apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Neonna Turk went supernova for Solvay, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Turk has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Annabelle Stewart, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Cincinnatus Central and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Solvay, their victory ended a 11-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-11.
Cincinnatus Central will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Solvay at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. As for Solvay, they will be playing at home against Marcellus at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marcellus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Solvay in New York (Marcellus is ranked 180th, while Solvay is ranked 584th).
