Two dominant players in Drue Anzai and Dillon Curtis are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Garden Grove Argonauts will head out on the road to take on the Katella Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Katella took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Garden Grove, who comes in off a win.
Garden Grove's six-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They managed a 47-42 victory over Segerstrom. The victory was just what Garden Grove needed coming off of a 68-47 defeat in their prior matchup.
Garden Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Juarez, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Anzai, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Katella pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Westminster on the road by a decisive 84-70 margin. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (61), Katella still had to take the loss.
Garden Grove's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-16. As for Katella, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.
Garden Grove came up short against Katella in their previous meeting on January 9th, falling 59-55. Can Garden Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
