It was a good run, but The First Academy Royals unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Forest 62-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The First Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Max Simmons, who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Lorenzo De jesus, who scored 16 points.
The First Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The First Academy will square off against Victory Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Victory Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Forest, they will head out on the road to challenge North Marion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Marion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Forest is ranked 93rd).
