The Bear River Bears will challenge the Hurricane Tigers at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Bear River was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Green Canyon on Friday. The Bears blew past the Wolves 12-2. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 15 contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Kate Wilson tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Aubree Fry was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Dougals, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.
Bear River was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Green Canyon only posted a batting average of .261.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hurricane). They were the clear victors by a 24-8 margin over West on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on five straight.
Hurricane got a massive performance out of Faith Fuller, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Hoover, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and one double.
Bear River's win was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Hurricane, their win bumped their record up to 11-14.
Hurricane's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Bear River has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.5 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Hurricane, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Bear River keep running through batters, or will the Tigers buck the trend?
Everything went Bear River's way against Hurricane when the teams last played back in May of 2022, as Bear River made off with an 8-1 victory. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
