Mid-Indiana Football recap September 4, 2013
Eastern Hancock was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to second in Mid-Indiana Football. The Royals vanquished South Decatur 50-6 earlier in the week.
Knightstown moved up to 173 from 200 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Hagerstown 40-13.
Indian Creek's dynamic duo of Gynson Robley and Brenden Smith proved to be unstoppable against Greenwood, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Robley threw for 130 yards and Smith had 71 yards receiving. Jake McGowan helped Indian Creek's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 58 yards.
The Braves' dynamic duo of Robley and Smith proved tough for the Woodmen to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Kaleb Kinnaman was a force in the backfield as Knightstown beat the Tigers.
Kinnaman was a passing and rushing force as Kevin Miller's team defeated Hagerstown.
Smith was the best wideout in the league this week as Indian Creek fell to Greenwood.
Kinnaman was the best running back in Mid-Indiana Football this week. He ran for 212 yards on 27 carries as the Panthers fell to Mike Campbell's team. Teammate Brennin Harper added to the ground attack by rushing for 122 yards.
Robley put up the best numbers through the air as the Braves fell to the Woodmen.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Indian Creek's Robley and Smith have proven to be a lethal combination. Robley has thrown for 269 yards this season, while Smith, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 10 catches for 151 yards. Knightstown's Kinnaman leads the league in rushing yards with 243.
The Braves are in sixth place, while Eastern Hancock is in second place.
The Cougars lost to Patrick Echeverria's team 50-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
