Sonora is 10-0 against Argonaut since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Sonora Wildcats' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Argonaut Mustangs at 7:15 p.m. on January 26th. Sonora will be strutting in after a win while Argonaut will be coming in after a loss.
Sonora scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Amador 84-40 on the road. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Sonora has managed all season.
Sonora's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Parker Moore, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Edwards, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Argonaut pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 65-58 to Bret Harte.
Sonora pushed their record up to 14-10 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Argonaut, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season.
Sonora strolled past Argonaut in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a score of 56-41. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sonora since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
