The Broken Bow Indians''s homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Douglas County West Falcon at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Broken Bow is ranked 31st, while Douglas County West is ranked 14th).
Broken Bow might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Gothenburg who claimed the real prize. Broken Bow and Gothenburg were almost perfectly matched up, but Broken Bow suffered an agonizing 22-21 loss.
Defeat or not, Broken Bow got some senior leadership from Eli Coble who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries and Brice Chaplin who gained 110 total yards and two touchdowns. Coble was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 67 yards.
Meanwhile, Douglas County West can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-12 victory over Arlington at home. The victory was just what Douglas County West needed coming off of a 35-12 loss in their prior game.
Brady SInger was a one-man wrecking crew for Douglas County West as he rushed for 246 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryker Wohlers, who gained 105 total yards and two touchdowns.
Broken Bow's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Douglas County West, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
