Basketball Recap: Life Christian Academy Now 15-1 over Last 16 Games

Life Christian Academy won the last time they faced City of Life Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Life Christian Academy Lions enjoyed a cozy 70-51 win over the City of Life Christian Academy Warriors. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Warriors are ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Life Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ahmed Salim Mustapha, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Mustapha has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 15 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Yariel Bonilla, who went 7 for 16 on his way to 15 points.

Life Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in ten consecutive contests.

City of Life Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nathan Thompson, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jafet Arroyo Colon, who earned ten points and four steals.

Life Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 25-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points per game. As for City of Life Christian Academy, they moved to 11-7 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Life Christian Academy will welcome The Vine Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. As for City of Life Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 72-60 victory against Faith Christian on the 28th.
