Blaine and Andover are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2019, but likely not for long. The Bengals will host the Huskies at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Blaine will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last seven times Blaine and Anoka have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Bengals walked away with a 5-1 win over the Tornadoes. That's two games straight that the Bengals have won by exactly four runs.

Emmie Sylvia-Cochran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Marin Aman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Andover hadn't done well against Maple Grove recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Huskies skirted past the Crimson 4-2.
Andover also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Alex Kostecka gave up only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit.
On the hitting side, Megan Surgenor was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Aurora Taft, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Andover has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Blaine, they pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Blaine has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Andover struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Blaine couldn't quite get it done against Andover when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 11-6. Will the Bengals have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
