If the More Cavaliers were riding high off their 48-16 takedown of the Worthington Trojans last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. More took a hard 51-34 fall against Red Cloud on Tuesday. More was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Red Cloud apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Red Cloud found their leader in underclassman Ashlan Carlow-Blount, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Carlow-Blount is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jodene Hunter, who scored 14 points.
More's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Red Cloud, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 17-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. More's road trip will continue as they head out to face West Central at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (West Central is ranked 59th, while More is ranked 39th). As for Red Cloud, they will head out on the road to take on Douglas at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Red Cloud focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday.
