Veritas Christian Academy are on the road again on Thursday and plays the North Warren Regional Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully Veritas Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Veritas Christian Academy slipped by American Christian School 35-34.
Caitlin O'Malley and Amya Cuddon were among the main playmakers for Veritas Christian Academy as the former scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals and the latter scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. O'Malley has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoey Torppey, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, North Warren Regional came up short against Bound Brook on Saturday and fell 45-36. While losing is never fun, North Warren Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Bound Brook is ranked 113th).
Veritas Christian Academy pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for North Warren Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
Veritas Christian Academy came up short against North Warren Regional when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 33-25. Can Veritas Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
