3A Region II District 12 recap September 10, 2013
Trey Jackson of Princeton ran for the longest rushing play in 3A Region II District 12 this season against Ranchview last week. Jackson ran for 76 yards on the play and finished with 238 on the day as his team topped the Wolves.
Fans got a thrill when Taylor McGehee and Cameron Hunter connected against Van Alstyne. The connection was good for 71 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Melissa's dynamic duo of McGehee and Hunter proved tough for the Panthers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. McGehee threw for 153 yards and 2 touchdowns and Hunter had 84 yards receiving. Jc Cottrell helped Melissa's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 79 yards.
The Cardinals' dynamic duo of McGehee and Hunter proved to be unstoppable against Van Alstyne, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Jackson was the most successful running back in the league this week. Marcellus Hill also contributed to the rushing game with 30 yards on the ground.
Hunter was the best wideout in 3A Region II District 12 this week as Melissa bested Mikeal Miller's team.
Jackson provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Princeton topped Ranchview.
McGehee put up the best numbers through the air as Seth Stinton's team bested the Panthers.
Jackson was a beast in the backfield as lee wilkins' team defeated Terry Smith's team.
The Cardinals' McGehee and Hunter have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback McGehee has thrown for 499 yards this season, while Hunter has 8 catches for 143 yards. Jackson from the Panthers leads the league in rushing with 368 yards.
Bonham moved up to 385 from 556 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors were able to make move up by besting North Lamar 41-25.
