It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sunnyslope had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 64-27 win over the Paradise Honors Panthers. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Sunnyslope's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackie Wentworth, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 15 points and six boards. What's more, Wentworth also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Teagan McIlroy, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and five assists.
Sunnyslope was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paradise Honors only racked up nine assists.
Despite the defeat, Paradise Honors had strong showings from Morgan Van Dyke, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards, and Jaelyn Perez, who had six points. Van Dyke is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Sunnyslope is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Paradise Honors, their loss ended a ten-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5.
