The Dalhart Wolves will head out on the road to challenge the Childress Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Dalhart will bounce into Monday's match after beating River Road, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Dalhart was the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over River Road on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lil Bird was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has become a key player for Dalhart: the team is undefeated when he allows at most two hits, but 2-7 otherwise. Bird was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Talon Garcia was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Kreed Hines was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.
Dalhart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Childress had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Pied Pipers by a score of 9-6.
Like Dalhart, Childress also got a great game from a two-way player: Drake Rabe. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rabe was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other pitching news, Johnny Duran tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Cash Hightower, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Logan Oldham, who scored three runs and stole a base.
Childress' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Dalhart, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-7.
Dalhart came up short against Childress when the teams last played back in February of 2021, falling 6-1. Can Dalhart avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
