The Fairview Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Trinity 64-23. While losing is never fun, Fairview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 627th, while the Trojans are ranked 273rd).
Trinity's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was De'oshania Bennett, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. Bennett hasn't dropped below three steals for seven straight games. Iniya Charlton was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten steals.
Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Trinity, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6.
Fairview will be playing at home against the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Trinity, they will head out on the road to square off against the at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. John Hay's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
