The Mt. Carmel Sundevils are taking a road trip to face off against Mission Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Mt. Carmel put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Escondido with a sharp 12-1 win. The Sundevils haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Naya Leuck and Chloe Millard made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Leuck tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Meanwhile, Millard tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. At bat, Leuck scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Millard scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those three hits gave Leuck a new career-high.

Meanwhile, the third road match was the charm for Mission Vista, as they earned their first away win of the season. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over Vista on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Mission Vista's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Macy Milena made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Milena was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season.

With the victory, Mission Vista broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-8. As for Mt. Carmel, their record is now 7-8.
Mt. Carmel couldn't quite get it done against Mission Vista in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Can the Sundevils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
