Mountain View is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Owyhee is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mavericks will host the Storm at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mountain View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Mountain View got a great performance from Katy Jackson as she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Jackson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Afton Janke was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tayelynn Puyleart, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Borah only posted an OBP of .286.
Meanwhile, Owyhee faced Rocky Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Storm came out on top in a nail-biter against the Grizzlies, sneaking past 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Storm in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won six in a row.
Hailey Bock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Owyhee's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was McKenna Schab, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Mountain View is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Owyhee, their victory bumped their record up to 16-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mountain View has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Owyhee struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 12 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
