Football Recap: Harbor Creek Comes Up Short

After a string of three wins, Harbor Creek's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of the Girard Yellowjackets by a score of 32-30. While the Huskies had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Yellowjackets 13-6.

Despite the loss, Harbor Creek still got an impressive performance from Gavin Zillman, who rushed for 229 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries.

A big part of Girard's win came down to the chemistry between Ryan St. Julien and his top target Aidan Arnold. St. Julien threw for 164 yards and three TDs while Arnold gained 223 total yards and a touchdown. That's the most passing yards St. Julien has posted since back in August of 2024.

Harbor Creek now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Girard, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Harbor Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 35-29 loss against Fort LeBoeuf on the 10th. As for Girard, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-3 defeat against North East on the 11th.
