The Unaka Rangers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their tenth straight loss. They took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oakdale.
Despite the defeat, Unaka saw an underclassman step up: Keyona Hague scored 16 points. Hague continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lauren Lund was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Unaka's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Oakdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Unaka's road trip will continue as they head out to face Happy Valley at 6:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Happy Valley is on a three-game streak of home losses, Unaka a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. As for Oakdale, they will head out on the road to face off against Harriman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
