Wilkinson County and Hancock Central are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2014, but not for long. The Wilkinson County Warriors will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Hancock Central Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.
After a string of three wins, Wilkinson County's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell 21-12 to Johnson County.
Although Wilkinson County took the loss, they still got scores from Quenterrion Sanford and Jeremiah Hill.
Meanwhile, Hancock Central never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 38-0 victory over Twiggs County on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Hancock Central just coasted through the last quarter.
Raquan Washington was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries.
Johnson County's victory bumped their season record to 5-3 while Wilkinson County's loss dropped theirs to 4-4.
Wilkinson County didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hancock Central when the teams last played back in October of 2022, but they still walked away with a 12-8 victory. Will Wilkinson County repeat their success, or does Hancock Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
