After a string of three wins, the Holy Trinity Titans's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 71-59 to St. Anthony. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
St. Anthony's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Connor Mannix led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 22 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mannix has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Nicolas Vieux, who scored nine points along with seven assists and four steals.
Holy Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for St. Anthony's, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Holy Trinity will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Anthony's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Firebirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kellenberg Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Friars likes a good challenge.
