The Bonney Lake Panthers waltzed into their matchup Thursday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They walked away with a 47-38 victory over Emerald Ridge. That's another feather in the cap for Bonney Lake, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bonney Lake got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Evin Elias out in front who went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 0 assists. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Azy Jackson, who scored 20 points.
Bonney Lake's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Emerald Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.
Bonney Lake will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Sumner at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Sumner focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday. Emerald Ridge will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Olympia at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
