Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Malcolm Lawrence, who had 15 digs, six aces, and three blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Prince Lupac, who had 15 kills, 12 digs, and two aces.
Meanwhile, Virgin Valley made easy work of Cristo Rey St. Viator on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Royals: they've now won five in a row.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Virgin Valley took every set by at least 19 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-1, 25-2, 25-6.
Mater Academy East Las Vegas' loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Virgin Valley, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-6.
