Baseball Recap: Eminence Has No Trouble Against Frankfort Christian Academy

Eminence won the last time they faced Frankfort Christian Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Warriors put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 11-1 victory. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Waylon Parker looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Eminence is 2-1 when Parker allows one or fewer hits, but 3-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Tanner Simpson and Hayden Kuhn did most of the damage at the plate: Simpson scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Kuhn scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Simpson is becoming a predictor of Eminence's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 2-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Cody Bradbury, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Eminence always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frankfort Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .300.

Eminence pushed their record up to 5-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Frankfort Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eminence will square off against Gallatin County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Frankfort Christian Academy, they will challenge Brown at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
