Tennessee is 1-7 against the Fighting Cyclones since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Tennessee Vikings will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Tennessee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Even though Sullivan East scored an imposing 57 points, Tennessee still came out on top. Everything went Tennessee's way against the Patriots as the Vikings made off with a 81-57 win. Given Tennessee's advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while the Patriots are ranked 233rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tennessee can attribute much of their success to Addie Wilhoit, who scored 21 points along with five assists, and Anna kate Kinch, who scored 20 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeyanah Foote, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Elizabethton unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to David Crockett.
Tennessee has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Elizabethton, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
