The Millard West Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Millard South Patriots at 7:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
On Friday, Millard West came up short against Creighton Prep and fell 61-51.
Meanwhile, Millard South pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 86-62 defeat at the hands of Omaha Westside. While losing is never fun, Millard South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Omaha Westside is ranked seventh).
Millard South's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bernie Anderson, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Isaac Jensen who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Koby Meyers was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.
Millard West has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for Millard South, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.
Millard West couldn't quite finish off Millard South in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 and fell 57-55. Can Millard West avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
