The Southside Tigers will square off against the Westside Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southside comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Southside lost 26-4 to Fountain Inn on Thursday.
Southside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaycee Elliott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Westside got themselves on the board against Emerald last Thursday, but Emerald never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 21-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won seven contests by nine runs or more so far this season.
Jazelyn Robinson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Gray, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Amelia Wilson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI.
Westside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Westside is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Southside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .491. However, it's not like Westside struggles in that department as they've averaged .477. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Southside might still be hurting after the 29-0 defeat they got from Westside in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
