The Richfield Tigers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They walked away with a 38-30 victory over Rockland. For Richfield, this counts as revenge for the 42-29 defeat Rockland walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.
Richfield was led to victory by Shelby Jones and Kasey Hendren. Jones dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Hendren scored 16 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Hendren has scored at least 25% of Richfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clancy Patterson, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Richfield's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. As for Rockland, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Richfield will head out on the road to face off against Glenns Ferry at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Glenns Ferry is ranked 51st, while Richfield is ranked 53rd). As for Rockland, they will be playing at home against Grace Lutheran at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grace Lutheran's defense has only allowed 20.2 points per game this season, so Rockland's offense will have their work cut out for Rockland.
