On Thursday, the South Sevier Rams faced the Kanab Cowboys in a battle between two of the state's top teams. South Sevier took a 58-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kanab. It was the first time this season that South Sevier let down their fans at home.
South Sevier lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caitlin Nielson, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Sydnee Patterson was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
South Sevier's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3. As for Kanab, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Sevier will take on Water Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Water Canyon has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Kanab, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parowan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
