Softball Recap: Piute Wins Going Away Against Pinnacle

Piute won the last time they faced Pinnacle and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Thunderbirds were the clear victors by a 21-4 margin over the Panthers. The Thunderbirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 15 runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Alayna Severe, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. She also launched a home run, marking her first of the season. Kenadi King was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Severe wasn't the only one making solid contact: Piute kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pinnacle only managed four hits.

The win made it two in a row for Piute and bumps their season record up to 5-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 22.5 runs over those games. As for Pinnacle, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Piute has already played their next game, a 13-3 defeat against Kanab on the 10th. As for Pinnacle, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 19-0 loss against Altamont on the 14th.
