The Texas Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Whitehouse 45-21. Given Texas' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Whitehouse is ranked 121st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Texas to victory were Tradarian Ball and Javari Johnson. Ball rushed for 125 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Johnson rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braylen Jackson, who picked up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown. Jackson was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 64 yards.
Texas' win was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points per game. As for Whitehouse, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.
Texas will take on Pine Tree at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pine Tree is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Whitehouse, they will head out on the road to face off against Marshall at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
