ELIZABETHVILLE, Pa. - After four lead changes,
Upper Dauphin Area (Elizabethville, Pa.) took the lead for good when
MacKenzie Ney ran for a two-point conversion with 4:00 remaining in the third quarter and held on to beat
Juniata (Mifflintown, Pa.) 43-31 on Saturday.
The Indians pulled ahead on a touchdown run by
Josh Parson, and subsequently went into halftime leading 28-21. The Trojans scored the winning points with a two-point conversion that came in the third quarter.
Trey Campbell and
Cameron Fornwald ran for a bunch of touchdowns for Juniata. Campbell scored three touchdowns on the ground and Fornwald added two as well.
The defeat comes as a step back for Juniata, which notched a 47-44 victory over East Juniata in its previous outing. The win was a nice bounce back for Upper Dauphin Area, which lost to Tri-Valley last week, 20-0. The victory ended Upper Dauphin Area's two-game losing streak.
Upper Dauphin Area (3-3) will play a Tri-Valley game against Newport next week, while Juniata (2-4) will take on Millersburg also in a Tri-Valley game.
