Baseball Recap: Mogollon's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Mogollon waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Ray Bearcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-3 on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Brody Porter, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Eric Starkes, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mogollon pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ray, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Mogollon will take on Joseph City at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Joseph City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something Mogollon will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Ray, they will welcome Coolidge at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Ray is facing Coolidge at the right time seeing as Coolidge is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
