The Key West Conchs will head out on the road to face off against the St. Brendan Sabres at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Key West had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Archbishop McCarthy by a score of 37-34.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for St. Brendan at home against Marathon on Tuesday as the team secured a 69-36 victory.
St. Brendan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gianna Vindigni, who scored 21 points. Jaden Castro was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Key West's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for St. Brendan, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything came up roses for Key West against St. Brendan when the teams last played back in February of 2021 as the team secured a 70-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Key West since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
