The California Interscholastic Federation released the state volleyball playoff brackets on Sunday.
The race to the state finals at Santiago Canyon College in Orange begins this coming week and culminates in six championship matches over two days on Nov. 21 and 22.
Sierra Canyon grabbed the top seed in Southern California after its 3-1 win over Mater Dei in the Southern Section Division 1 final on Saturday. The Trailblazers take on Mira Costa in the opening round on Wednesday. The Monarchs are the two-seed and play Redondo, while San Diego Section Open Division champion Torrey Pines is the three-seed and battle
San Juan Hills (San Juan Capistrano). Cathedral is the four-seed and takes on Marymount.
Archbishop Mitty is the Northern California Open Division one-seed and takes on
Redwood (Larkspur) in the opening round.
