While the Iroquois Raiders couldn't quite beat the Doss Dragons on Friday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 45-point  defeat they were dealt  last Tuesday. Iroquois fell just short of the Dragons by a score of  36-33. Iroquois has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Despite the  defeat, Iroquois saw an underclassman step up:  Maliyah Poindexter  scored 22 points along with eight  steals. That was a full 66.7% of Iroquois' points, marking the third time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points.
 Iroquois' defeat was  their sixth straight at home, which  dropped their record down to 3-14. Those losses could be blamed on the team's  offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Doss, the  victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Iroquois will take on the Vikings at 5:45  p.m.  on Tuesday. Valley is coming into the  match on a three-game losing streak. As for Doss, they will be playing at home against the Warriors at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
