It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Jefferson City Jays had no problem doing just that on Friday. They had just enough and edged Pleasant Hill out 37-34. The win was nothing new for Jefferson City as they're now sitting on four straight.
Zach Barnes had a dynamite game for Jefferson City, rushing for 174 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Jefferson City's defensive line and their five sacks. Leading the way was Kane Fuelling and his three sacks.
Jefferson City has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Pleasant Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 9-2.
Jefferson City is on the road again on Saturday and play against McDonald County at 1:00 p.m. on November 18th. McDonald County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 154 points over their last four matches. Pleasant Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
