The New Egypt Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Dunellen Destroyers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
New Egypt lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pinelands Regional, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Wildcats a 10-0 shutout on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Nolan Arnold was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because New Egypt is 3-1-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-8 otherwise. Arnold was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
Arnold wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Burgos, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Dunellen entered their tilt with Roselle Park on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 6-1.
Joseph Reyes spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Michael Dow was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Stein, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
New Egypt's record now sits at 5-9-1. As for Dunellen, their record is now 12-6.
Everything went New Egypt's way against Dunellen in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as New Egypt made off with an 11-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
