The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mather in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Mather saw an underclassman step up: Janelle Eliot scored 13 points. Kayrhianna Jackson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Mather's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Von Steuben, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12.
Mather won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on February 2nd. As for Von Steuben, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on February 7th. Chicago Academy's defense has only allowed 24 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
