The Wawasee Warriors suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 52-31 defeat at the hands of Tippecanoe Valley. Wawasee has struggled against Tippecanoe Valley recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Wawasee had strong showings from Mackenzie Hackleman, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Kaydence Shepherd, who scored five points along with three steals. Hackleman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Wawasee struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Tippecanoe Valley was led to victory by Chesnee Miller and Ava Egolf. Miller scored 14 points along with five steals, while Egolf scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Egolf has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gaby Gonzalez, who scored no points along with six steals.
Wawasee has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their victory was their 18th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
Wawasee will take on Whitko at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Whitko is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Manchester at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Manchester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Tippecanoe Valley is ranked 42nd).
