The Ouray Trojans pushed their score all the way to 56 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ridgway. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Tuesday (55), Ouray still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Ouray saw an underclassman step up: Cavan Pasek scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Conner Hill, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Ridgway found their leader in underclassman Isaac Baskfield, who scored 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Megahee, who scored 15 points.
Ouray's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ridgway, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1.
Ouray will take on De Beque at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully De Beque focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Saturday. As for Ridgway, they will head out on the road to face off against Olathe at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th.
