After a string of three wins, the Harvester Christian Academy Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 76-71 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Hawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jarrett Brown, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Stoeckig, who scored 17 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Seth Rivers, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Rocky Steidinger was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Harvester Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Central Christian, they pushed their record up to 3-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season.
Harvester Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Flint River Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Flint River Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Thursday. As for Central Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Holy Ground Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Holy Ground Baptist Academy is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
