The Naylor Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 75-50 defeat at the hands of Cooter. Naylor has struggled against Cooter recently, as their game on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Caleb Gunnels, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 16 rebounds for Cooter. That makes it two consecutive games in which Gunnels has scored at least 25% of Cooter's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden McLevain, who scored 17 points along with 5 steals.
Naylor's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Cooter, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Naylor will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Twin Rivers at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Cooter will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holcomb at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
