The Veritas Collegiate Academy Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Summit Christian Academy at home to the tune of 94-44. Veritas Collegiate Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Veritas Collegiate Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcqell Freeman, who scored 21 points. Freeman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Majesty Dawson, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Courtland Reiter, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Johnson, who scored eight points along with two steals.
The victory (which was Veritas Collegiate Academy's sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2. As for Summit Christian Academy, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Veritas Collegiate Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cristo Rey at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Summit Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Suffolk Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Luke Ott and Ezra Crowder.
