The Jordan Beetdiggers will head out on the road to face off against the Granger Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Jordan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Jordan ultimately got the result they hoped for. They managed a 83-79 victory over West. The win was some much needed relief for Jordan as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jordan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jake Thomsen, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brandt Steed, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Granger pushed their score all the way to 59 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Summit Academy. Granger has not had much luck with Summit Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Jordan's victory bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Granger, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Jordan was able to grind out a solid victory over Granger when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 60-47. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Granger's Isaac Begay, who scored 19 points along with 6 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Jordan to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
