The Illinois Lutheran Chargers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Northland Lutheran Wildcats on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to the Wildcats. Illinois Lutheran just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Illinois Lutheran's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Adeniran, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Adeniran scored a full 28.1% of Illinois Lutheran's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tristan Biesterfeld was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Illinois Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Northland Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Illinois Lutheran is on the road again on Saturday and play against Michigan Lutheran at 11:30 a.m. on December 9th. As for Northland Lutheran, they will square off against Great Plains Lutheran at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Great Plains Lutheran focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
