Rocky Mount has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. Having just played yesterday, they will head out on the road to face off against the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Rocky Mount will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 467th, while Roanoke Rapids is ranked 213th).
Rocky Mount pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 78-68 to Northern Nash.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Emanauel Battle, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zyquae Pittman, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Roanoke Rapids didn't have too much trouble with Bunn at home on Friday as they won 50-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Roanoke Rapids.
Rocky Mount has fallen quite a ways from their 21-4 record last season and are now at 3-9. As for Roanoke Rapids, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home.
Rocky Mount strolled past Roanoke Rapids in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 70-56. Does Rocky Mount have another victory up their sleeve, or will Roanoke Rapids turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
