Tri-County recap September 17, 2013
River Valley scaled the state rankings by moving to 382 from 426 this week, the biggest jump in Tri-County. The Falcons climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Center 14-0.
Natomas fell to Dixon 52-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tivon Johnson was a bright spot for the Nighthawks, as he ran for 48 yards in the loss.
Yuba City's dynamic duo of Isaac Lessard and Devin Pettengill proved to be unstoppable against Liberty Ranch, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lessard threw for 240 yards and 2 touchdowns and Pettengill had 122 yards receiving. Austin Thompson helped Yuba City's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 89 yards.
The Honkers' dynamic duo of Lessard and Pettengill proved tough for the Hawks to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Rafael Garcia was a key player and the best on defense this week as Woodland lost to Bear River. He.
Tyler Dean was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 137 yards on 11 carries as Inderkum bested Liberty Ranch. Terrence White also contributed to the rushing game with 123 yards on the ground.
Pettengill was the best wideout in the league this week as John Ithuburn's team defeated Darin Higgins' team.
Lessard put up the best numbers through the air as the Honkers beat the Hawks.
Leading Tri-County in both passing and receiving yards, Yuba City's Lessard and Thompson have proven to be a lethal combination. Lessard has thrown for 482 yards this season, while Thompson has 9 catches for 220 yards. River Valley's TJ Dove leads the league in rushing yards with 383.
The Tigers led the league in scoring this week by notching 49 points on Casa Roble. White caught 3 passes for 23 yards during the win.
