Varela came into Wednesday's matchup looking for another win against Coral Gables, but William Hardie wouldn't allow it. The Cavaliers blew past the Vipers 3-0 on Wednesday thanks in part to Hardie, who had 27 digs and one assist. Hardie is crushing it when it comes to digs: he's had at least ten every time he's taken the court this season.

Coral Gables' got stronger as the match went on, holding Varela to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-22, 25-20.

The victory made it two in a row for Coral Gables and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Varela, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coral Gables will host Immaculata-La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Varela, they will welcome Hialeah at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
